Job Purpose

This role will involves creating and /or augmenting the Quality systems, approaches, and programs to achieve a proactive, customer-focused organization resulting in delivering on AOP commitments. This will involve formulating an overall quality vision, setting quality goals, and recommending organizational changes to achieve the set goal. This individual will create an environment conducive to continuous quality improvement and implement systems from APQP through production launch that nurture and achieve quality excellence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to Quality Managers in the field, ensuring that quality standards are implemented consistently across assigned facilities
  • Lead all relevant global Quality and cross-functional activities, with emphasis on the roll-out, support and appropriate verification of the Dana Program Management and Advanced Quality processes
  • Implement the OneDana Quality Operating System ensuring plants understand and comply with elements and applications used to ensure IATF 16949 and other standards or metrics that relate to customer scorecards
  • Maintain and improve (and develop or remediate as necessary) quality systems and approaches consistent with all customer CSR’s, OneDana QOS and IATF16949 requirements, inclusive of a robust Management Review and auditing processes
  • Actively participate on the Corporate Quality Leadership Team, and enforce Corporate Policies and Procedures
  • Monitor quality activities; customer and supplier (internal and external) quality, customer relationships, proactive continuous improvement activities, technical problem-solving leadership and activities, corrective action activities, and field action management
  • Support plants with initiatives for quality improvements and assist as needed with barriers to implementations
  • Actively lead product safety and field action investigation activities as per Dana’s Product Safety and Field Action Notification and Approval Process
  • Actively assist plants with issue escalation as required
  • Maintain (and develop as necessary) key Quality metrics supporting customer satisfaction and BU operational goals
  • Implement Corporate and BU Problem Solving systems and approaches
  • Ensure 100% conformance to all customer and Dana policies and requirements including system tools and supporting data uploads
  • Work closely with the Dana Warranty team to coordinate efforts and prioritize activities to achieve company and customer goals, and to maximize customer satisfaction

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree / Professional Certifications preferred
  • 12 years of experience in Quality with significant managerial experience
  • Tier 1 automotive quality experience
  • Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO and AIAG requirements is mandatory
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
