Dana is searching for a skilled and motivated candidate in Electrified Powertrain Control Systems for the role of SW Chief Engineer. This work involves complete technical responsibility and ownership of delivering the fully integrated software including both the Controls and Application Software as well as the Basic Software with the customer expected features/functions for the system and the corresponding customer interfacing as the primary technical contact as required. It also involves leadership and active contribution into the timing development working closely with the EPM(s) and all the controls and software teams as well as cross functional teams for vehicle systems and components, to expand Dana’s commitment to products that improve vehicle safety, performance and fuel economy. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· As the SW Chief Engineer, function as the overall technical leader that is finally responsible for the complete software delivery with all the required features/functions to be provided within each of the releases per the plan.

· Function as the primary point of contact for the complete software with the customer and internal DANA teams as required including aspects such as but not limited to technical discussions/explanations on how the features/functions work, negotiating the customer expectations and aligning with DANA teams and customer as required, taking ownership and driving/actively participating in customer/internal DANA meetings for the same, own and drive the technical aspects of the planning being able to define clearly the needs/dependencies/limitations etc. including the relationship to manpower working closely with the EPM(s) and the team as required.

· Work very closely with the customer including at the customer site(s) as required for features/functions development and issue root causing, ICA and other corrective actions definition and implementation, participate in testing aspects as required.

· Internally within DANA take complete technical leadership of the software release planning and execution working closely with the EPM(s), software team leadership and team members as well as cross functional teams to develop and release customer features as required. This includes resolving technical interdependencies and needs within the software team and cross functional teams as required.

· Actively lead and drive day to day development and issue resolutions related to overall areas including establishing the controls strategies as required in areas such as but not limited to Core Motor Controls, NVH, Thermal, Derating, State Machine Sequencing, Functional Safety Feature(s) development and Basic Software features in the AUTOSAR domain.

· Ensure that the overall software delivered has the required calibrations possible from the software team. Drive and execute its coordination and implementation as required.

· Take leadership of and drive/execute the a2l generation, calibration tool setup, calibration procedures and documentation, calibration release and related aspects from a software standpoint working closely with the customer as well as DANA software team and cross functional teams as required.

· Responsible for Interfacing with and working closely with cross functional teams such as Systems/Hardware/Mechanical/Thermal/Safety/Test Property and Testing.

· Understand the customer and system level requirements, work closely with the team during SW Requirements, Software architecture, Detailed Design and Implementation, Unit testing and Integration testing phases for ensuring a quality and timely release.

· Interface directly and closely with the overall EDU Chief Engineering, Program Management, Management team as required to develop customer delivery strategies, timing impact inputs etc. as required.

· Work closely with the FuSa and Cybersecurity Technical team(s) as required helping the team on decomposition and definition of Software Requirements and downstream work products definition.

· Execute specific features on projects as required from requirements development through controls testing following the ASPICE development process.

· Develop and grow core strategy documentation for presentation to Management team including executive management as required from time to time to provide insight into current and future motor controls strategy and status.

· Also as required support the development of Advanced/Next Generation DANA Inverter/Motor products keeping it aligned towards the production path working with cross functional team members and management team as required.

Requirements

· Master’s degree in Engineering in Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering required. PhD in Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

· 10+ years of hands on experience in the development of Automotive Motor Controls Development and Testing for production level features and functions required.

· Working experience using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow model-based software development required.

· Working experience with AUTOSAR development flow and tools such as Mathworks/Electrobit/Vector/dSPACE etc tool chains for the same.

· Working experience with SW development tools such as Polarion, Git, Jira, Confluence..etc.

· Working experience with A-SPICE processes, and Agile methods.

· Ability to successfully function in a team with cross-functional team members.

· Excellent organizational and follow-up skills; problem solving, planning and decision making.

· Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is organized and able to accept multiple tasks and responsibilities.

· Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.

· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

· Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.

Preferred

· Architecture knowledge of vehicle powertrain control systems.

· Previous experience releasing production model-based software in projects certified to A-SPICE L2.

· Azure repos and artifactory usage experience.

· Previous experience optimizing controls parameters during vehicle testing.

· Understanding of the ISO26262 FuSa and ISO21434 Cybersecurity Engineering standard and practices.

· Understanding of product development standards including APQP, DVP&R, DFM and DFMEA.

· Stay abreast with the latest industry trends in the related area and apply towards hands on production controls development as required.

Education and Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
