Continuous Improvement Manager

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Plant Manager the Continuous Improvement Manager will identity and execute activities related to cost optimization for the Warren Plant. The position will oversee the implementation of DOS as well as key performance indicators for cost, productivity, and inventory among others. He/she is responsible for creating and implementing the DOS culture and mindset across all areas of the plant.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Leads Warren Plant in lean manufacturing fundamentals.
• Coordinates with plant support staff to implement total Lean programs, policies, initiatives as required for product and process development and manufacturing that is in compliance with customer expectations and global standards for DOS.
• Help the facility drive improvements in product and process quality, client relationships, and customer service.
• Direct customer and internal DOS reporting systems to achieve rapid response to issues, prompt corrective actions and system data accuracy.
• Drives customer satisfaction throughout our DOS processes and systems that allow conformance to customer requirements.
• Develops and maintain DOS systems that improve the overall lean level within the plant and conforms to requirements of relevant registrations / standards.
• Report on facility’s lean status relative to manufactured and assembled products.
• Utilizes division lean staff to ensure facility compliance to Dana, and customer quality requirements, including on-site reviews.
• Work with Dana DOS Managers to address supplier lean improvement opportunities and robust corrective actions.
• Communicate weekly progress, issues, roadblocks and strategies to Plant leadership team.
Education and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; and/or additional relevant work experience to offset degree requirement.
Additional Requirements:
• Experience with TPS preferred
• Experience in lean systems; an automotive lean background is preferred but not required
• Strong technical background in manufacturing processes, problem solving, and lean methods is a must
• Detailed knowledge of international lean systems and requirements
• 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing industry preferred
• Master Black Belt or Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma Preferred
