Position Summary

 

The Hydraulic Valve Lead Engineer is responsible for the development of design and the production launch of flow control and compact hydraulics: in particular cetop, cartridge and bankable valves.
She / He must support the operation department for the troubleshooting and support the maintenance of the products after SOP.

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Starting from the input/customer specifications carry out both technical feasibility studies and final design of the valves, paying attention to the principles of design for costing, manufacturing and assembly.
  • Follow the preparation of the prototypes connected to his/her projects and define the DVP for their validation.
  • Support the operation dept. during the resolution of the issue related to engineering.
  • Prepare technical documentation pertaining to the assigned projects, identify and help manage risks and opportunities for the project.
  • Analyze the fluid dynamics simulations and structural calculations of the components under development.
  • Ability to generate innovative ideas to meet the market and OEM's requirements

Job Position Requirements

 

Education: Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Degree

 

Professional background:

  • 3-5 years experiences in similar role
  • 8 years experiences in design of hydraulic valves
  • Experience in hydraulic design and development, from concept definition through testing / validation up to industrialization and production.
  • Experience in casting design

 

Hard Skills

 

  • Deep knowledge of hydraulic valves functioning and designing.
  • Clear understanding of hydraulic circuits due to real application.
  • Strong experience on CAD Software (preferably Solidworks) to realize 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Co-operate with colleagues of Test Lab to define the Design Verification Plan (DVP).
  • Clear understanding of technical specifications, both mechanical and hydraulic, to ensure that engineering designs and deliverables comply with the technical requirements and with a design to cost and design for manufacturing approach.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Fluent in English.

 

Considered as a plus:

 

  • Understanding of technical specifications electric/electronics.
  • Basics knowledge of Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.
  • Basics of Project Management.
  • Knowledge of techniques and design methodologies such as Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Knowledge of the Six Sigma and Red X problem solving process.
