Position Summary
We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer in Reggio Emilia Location.
This is an opportunity for Electronic Engineers or Information Technology Engineers with 5 years of experience in the off-highway or automotive sector ready to take on the challenge of implementing software algorithms for sensing systems (sensors and control units) applied to complex off-highway machineries.
You will be part of a high-performance team working in a global environment able to stimulate your skills and competences for a further professional growth. Creativity, innovation and curiosity are the team’ foundations to produce Sensing Solutions to address OEM vehicle needs.
The candidate will also be able to deal with AI/ML algorithms to enhance the value of delivered solutions.

Electronics and Sensing Solutions Engineering department offers an exciting challenge in building-up sustainable value for our customer applications leveraging Dana product portfolio and unique integrated safety solutions.
Main Responsibilities
• Writing and optimizing embedded firmware in C and model-based languages
• Applying the principles of functional safety and designing software that is functional safety compliant.
• Collaborating with the system engineering team to ensure system integration and functionality.
• Deal with AI/ML algorithms to improve the offered solutions.
• Software verification and validation MIL/HIL
• Static Software analysis
• Validation of mechatronic systems (hardware and software) MIL/HIL
• Software calibration for OH machineries applications
• Actively participating in the innovation process and continuous product improvement
Job Position Requirements
Education: University bachelor degree - IT engineering, Electronics engineering
Professional background
3-5 years experience in:
- software consultancy industry
- off-highway vehicle manufacturers
- smart sensors manufacturers or electronics systems supplier
- academia on mechatronics projects
Hard Skills
Essential:
- Model based software (Matlab/Simlink) and code targetting
- C language,
- Firmware on embedded electronic cards,
- Object oriented programming
- Applications on embedded electronic card
- CANBus knowledge
- MIL/HIL testing environments
- Functional safety standards ISO 13849 and/or ISO 26262 basics
- V-Cycle principles
- Requirement engineering basics
- Fluent English
Considered as a plus:
- Python language for AI/ML
- Vector VectorCast/CanAlyzer/CanApe/Candela Studio
- ASAM A2L, CAN CCP,
- CAN J1939, CAN Open, DBC knowledge
- Polarion tool for requirements management
