Job Purpose
The Senior Production Planner is a critical role in the smooth operation of the manufacturing plant. This individual collaborates closely with the materials team and takes direct ownership of production planning, execution, and continuous improvement processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Demand Analysis and Communication: Analyze customer demand, enter data into systems, and coordinate with the materials team on order fluctuations.
- MRP Management: Review and analyze MRP planning data, ensuring the accuracy of loading and cumulative requirements.
- Production Planning & Oversight: Develop production plans and timelines aligned with specifications while determining resource requirements based on capacity.
- Workflow & Scheduling: Plan and schedule production workflows to ensure timely delivery. Monitor progress, identify delays, and adjust schedules accordingly.
- Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve production issues, escalating critical problems to management. Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation.
- Customer Communication: Keep customers updated on any delays or outages.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- New Product Support: Assist in new product development and enhancement processes.
- System Setup: Manage and configure item planning parameters within relevant systems.
- Team Support & Development: Conduct daily production tracking, assist with training, participate in performance evaluations, and lead physical inventory counts.
- Flexibility: Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Assistant Materials Manager.
