Job Purpose
To ensure efficient material planning, production scheduling, and order fulfillment for Dana TM4’s electric powertrain components by aligning demand, supply, and manufacturing operations while maintaining optimal inventory and high customer service levels
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for electric mobility components.
- Manage MTS/MTO planning to meet customer demand and dispatch timelines.
- Monitor production adherence and proactively resolve shopfloor constraints.
- Align production plans with capacity and resource availability.
2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Run and analyze MRP in SAP S/4HANA to generate procurement and production plans.
- Ensure availability of raw materials, subassemblies, and critical components.
- Control material flow using Kanban, Min-Max, and Pull Flow systems.
- Balance demand vs. supply without creating excess inventory.
3. Inventory Management
- Monitor RM, WIP, and FG inventory levels to maintain optimal stock.
- Drive reduction of slow-moving and excess inventory (60/90+ days aging).
- Perform inventory analysis, variance tracking, and reconciliation.
- Improve inventory turnover and working capital efficiency.
4. Order Fulfilment & Customer Service
- Ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance.
- Track customer demand, backlogs, and overdue orders.
- Coordinate with global customers for forecast alignment and expedite planning.
- Maintain high service factor and order accuracy.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Sales teams.
- Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) discussions.
- Ensure alignment between forecast, production, and procurement plans.
6. Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery and order confirmations.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead times.
- Support development of new suppliers and outsourcing strategies.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean initiatives (VSM, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to improve efficiency.
- Reduce lead time, inventory levels, and planning cycle inefficiencies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
8. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and publish reports on:
- Production vs. Plan
- Inventory & material availability
- OTIF & service levels
- Shortages and backlog
- Use data analytics for trend analysis and decision-making.
Education and Qualifications
- B.Tech in Production / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
- 3–7 years of experience in SCM / PPC / Planning
- Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
