Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the planning and establishment of production schedules consistent with customer demands, plant capacity, and material availability for multiple sites
  • Oversee the receipt and movement of released projects
  • Provide inputs to shipment schedules, plans, and forecasts as knowledge of production status develops
  • Expedites critical jobs through the assembly, test, and inspection processes
  • Interface with the division office, plants, and customer representatives and participate in product rescheduling and modifications of the production run
  • Recommend changes to management of operations and procedures
  • Implement production control activities that ensure material flow through production in support of the production plans to satisfy business goals and customer demands
  • Regulate product mix in production to satisfy existing customer needs and to reduce delivery delinquencies
  • Monitor materials inventories, track progress of production, and review factors that affect schedules
  • Develop and manage projects to assist in meeting delivery requirements
  • Interact with customers as necessary (problem resolution, customer performance rating improvement)
  • Evaluate new model introductions and coordinate material procurement to support customer program timing
  • Assist with process improvements and data analyses
  • APQP participation, includes attendance at key program meetings and participation in launch process management as needed
  • Optimize and schedule multiple value streams and multi-step processes

 

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelors degree - preferably in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering 
  • Experience in managing multi-site production schedules required
  • Full knowledge of MRP required
  • Product and process knowledge desired
  • Demonstrated competence in production related statistics
  • Extensive manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency using IBM based PCs and Microsoft Office with Lotus Notes experience a plus
  • Proficiency using ERP system is desired
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work with people in pressure situations
  • Motivated individual who accepts responsibility
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Lean background to include pull system experience
  • Hajenka scheduling experience
