Job Purpose

The Production Superintendent oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, quality standards, and safety compliance. This role is responsible for managing production teams, coordinating schedules, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily and weekly production schedules and targets based on relevant criteria to include due date, customer, size of order and communicate directly with materials to verify availability of components and raw materials.
  • Balance existing labor and machine capacity to maximize efficiency and production throughput
  • Examine all aspects of the scheduling process, including historical data to improve production processes where possible
  • Review production specifications and identify and report plant capacity and constraints
  • Coordinate with production, materials, purchasing and finance teams to develop and maintain scheduling parameters
  • Provide Production Supervisors with a daily schedule of jobs to be completed and the priority for rush jobs.
  • Communicate with Customer Service and Customers with any issues involving delivery, quality, containment
  • Support and assist with strategies of operational safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Daily upkeep of inventory in SAP, batch management and resolve inventory discrepancies.

 


Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required or GED equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, administration, or relevant field preferred
  • 3-5 years in a relevant background in a manufacturing facility
  • Computer software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP
  • Excellent verbal, written, electronic communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees within the organization
  • Exhibit professionalism, maintain a high-level of confidentiality within all levels of the company
