Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently. This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor and will work to develop and optimize systems, processes, and machines that streamline the manufacturing process. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all communications and contacts with appropriate discipline concerning all processing issues (Product Design, Sales, Tool Shop, Production Plant, and Robotics)
  • Responsibilities may include molding, assembly of all prototypes and metal progressive stamping. Depending on the facility assigned.
  • Work closely with Tooling and Product Design on all problems on prototype production tools and document these.
  • Compile a book of the history of each program.
  • Implement and compile processing check sheets per IATF 16949 on all molding equipment.
  • Capable of troubleshooting silicone, metal and plastic molding, metal progressive stamping to resolve problems.
  • Prepare reports on material processing, tooling problems, assembly problems, etc.
  • Work with Tool Shop, Robotics Teams to develop equipment, fixtures, gages needed for Prototype development of the Production system.
  • Monitor SPC data collection and analysis.


Education and/or Experience:

  • Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred, or equivalent experience RJG Master Molder certification preferred.
  • Experience with CAD, plastics, injection molding and metal stamping preferred.
  • Must have knowledge in the following industrial disciplines to troubleshoot and maintain computerized injection molding presses and the associated equipment:  Electronics, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Equipment Set-up, Electrical, Pneumatics and Plumbing

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • · PLC experience – Allen Bradley background a must
  • · Kaizen & Lean manufacturing technologies
  • · Handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • · Must have knowledge of computers, machining, and assembly practices, tools & fixture

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
  •  Ability to communicate with vendors, customers, & employees at all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to attend training classes as needed/available.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8-12 hours.
