Main Responsibilities:
- Inspecting the incoming material for contamination or any other types of defects.
- Unbanding and unwrapping of all raw coils.
- Loading coils on the uncoilers.
- Calculating the weight and copying coils.
- Setting up cores on the recoilers.
- Setting up and making leader strip.
- Setting up the coils for the next shift including splitting and flipping as necessary.
- Checking and topping up nickel baskets with nickel D crowns.
- Making and cleaning roller seals, hydra seals.
- Emptying the garbage, cardboard and metal recycling bins.
- Preparing the aluminum drums for shipment. (capping and cleaning)
- Filter station dismantling, cleaning and rebuilding of filters.
- Performing the walk-arounds including taking slugs, stickers and incoming coil tags.
- Per coil checking and replacing the following:
- Spray Nozzles - Roller Seals
- Pumps - Barrels
- Yarn Filters - Billy Rolls
- Brushes - Evaporator
- Entering data on the charts, log sheets and on statistical charts.
- Recording scrap in the scrap log book and filling out the JIT book.
- Making adjustments to the pumps and additions to the solution as necessary.
- Checking the thickness of the nickel and percentage of lead on the strip using an X-Ray Florescence device.
- Check the adhesion of the nickel on the strip.
- Performing titrations to determine etch percentage.
- Inspecting the plated material as it comes out for stains, burrs and scratches.
- Taping, removing, banding and inspecting the finished coils.
- Assisting other team members with their duties as necessary.
- Assisting the operator in the Production Floor Office and the forklift driver if they require help.
- Double checking labels to verify the information is correct.
Qualifications:
- Experience in coating and manufacturing process applications, and their improvement.
- Problem solving, communications and arithmetic skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of TS16949, ISO14001 and ISO18001 systems.
- Team player, able to work with changing priorities
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimum supervision
- Visual acuity and manual ability to position and load aluminum coil onto uncoiler tables, stands and skids.
