Job Purpose

Ensure the arrival of production materials at the company, in accordance with supplier requirements and logistics routes, applying supply chain management and control systems and programs to comply with the group's policies, strategies, and objectives, as well as to meet customer needs and guidelines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that suppliers are asked to provide the necessary materials to comply with the production plan.- Consolidate order information for suppliers (releases),  Electronically send weekly orders to suppliers, Track and follow up on requested materials so that they arrive on time and at the lowest cost, Coordinate with customs agents regarding the requested materials. 
  • Check records and documentation for entry into the system.- Record materials in transit in the system (invoice entry),  Ensure information is available in the system for accounting closings, Review purchase order closings as quickly as possible,Consolidate delivery information vs. requirements for supplier performance rating (SPFS), Ensure collections with suppliers on the logistics website, Reconcile location 251 (materials in transit) monthly to ensure accurate inventory information.
  • Establish logistics routes (baseline) to reduce freight costs.- Analyze supplier shipping routes, Coordinate with the traffic department and suppliers to define routes (baseline)
  • Conduct special programs to track critical materials.- Manage the coverage file to detect possible shortages, following the escalation process to make decisions and speed up the delivery of materials, Notify the materials scheduling and warehouse areas in a timely manner of the timely arrival of raw materials to avoid shortages and setbacks, Analyze weekly demand to detect variations and avoid shortages.
  • Comply with legal requirements and internal regulations for the import process and registration of entries in the system.- Ensure that purchase orders comply with all parameters for the release of requirements to suppliers, and forward any exceptions to the purchasing department to avoid shortages, Request invoices and/or documents from suppliers to ensure timely registration in the system, Be familiar with each supplier's Incoterms, Deliver documentation to the responsible departments.
  • Generate ideas for continuous improvement.- Propose better ways of working and eliminate activities that do not add value to the organization.

Education and Qualifications

Preferably Industrial Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Administration or related field.

Advanced English

Preferably 2 years as a materials planner in the metalworking or automotive industry.
