Job Purpose
The Sr. Supply Chain analyst leverages advanced analytics, AI‑driven insights, and data science methodologies to optimize material flow, improve forecast accuracy, and strengthen Dana’s global supply chain performance. This role plays a key part in reducing working capital, driving cost‑optimization initiatives, and enhancing decision‑making through predictive analytics and automation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
AI, Data Science & Predictive Analytics
• Build and maintain AI‑driven forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply‑risk detection models.
• Apply data science techniques (regression, clustering, anomaly detection, statistical modeling) to identify process inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Develop predictive insights on demand variability, supplier performance, logistics constraints, and inventory exposure.
• Partner with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data pipelines, automate reporting, and integrate AI outputs into MP&L workflows.
• Support AI adoption across plants by training users, interpreting model recommendations, and validating accuracy of automated signals.
Working Capital & Cost Optimization
• Analyze inventory levels, safety stock models, lead times, and cycle stock to reduce working capital without compromising customer service.
• Identify excess, obsolete, and slow moving inventory drivers and propose data backed reduction strategies.
• Support cost reduction initiatives by analyzing transportation cost trends, supply routes, MOQ impacts, and supplier delivery patterns.
• Create scenario based models to evaluate the cost impact of forecast shifts, production changes, sourcing decisions, or logistics contingencies.
• Monitor working capital KPIs and provide actionable insights to MP&L and Finance.
Supply Chain Operations & Analytics
• Conduct deep dive analysis into material flow, capacity constraints, and MRP exceptions using SAP data.
• Develop real time dashboards and exception reports to improve visibility and streamline decision making.
• Partner with planners, schedulers, MP&L managers, and operations leaders to translate insights into executable actions.
• Support new product launches, engineering changes, and supply readiness activities using data driven assessments.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focusing on parameter optimization, scheduling accuracy, and inventory efficiency.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CPIM/CSCP preferred
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, materials management, logistics, operations research, or analytics.
- PowerBi.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with focus on cost, working capital, and operational optimization.
- Experience with AI concepts, predictive modeling, or statistical analysis is highly desirable.
- SAP experience (MM/PP required; familiarity with MRP logic, BOM structures, and inventory transactions preferred).
- Understanding of both the Automotive and Commercial Vehicle industry preferred.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be capable of professionally interacting with global manufacturing plants.
- Skilled in composing written correspondence and preparing presentations for senior management.
- Successfully interacts with a dispersed leadership team and others across functions and sites.
- Must be proactive, detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning and follow-through skills.
- Committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of problems of broad scope and complexity with little to no supervision.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Travel required 20%.
