Job Purpose
The Senior HR Generalist will serve as a strategic and hands-on partner to a local engineering population, while also supporting global HR initiatives across multiple regions. This role is responsible for delivering HR services including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compliance, with a strong focus on supporting a high-performing technical workforce. The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead HR support for the U.S. Engineering team, serving as the primary HR contact for employees and leaders.
• Support strategic HR initiatives for engineering teams globally, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide goals.
• Timely processing of employee hours in eTime and processing payroll requests such as tuition reimbursement, shoe reimbursement, etc.
• Support HR with various administrative responsibilities including the areas of on-boarding, orientation, transfer, exit, and job changes.
• Partner with leaders to drive employee engagement, retention, and development strategies.
• Proactively manage employee relations, including attendance, leaves, and performance issues.
• Ensure performance concerns are appropriately documented, monitored, and resolved.
• Support immigration and mobility processes, including visa sponsorship, compliance with employment authorization and coordination with immigration COE team.
• Lead University Relations for the Engineering function, including cooperative education programs and campus partnerships.
• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition COE to support recruitment strategies and hiring needs.
• Facilitate and lead HR lifecycle events including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Support workforce planning, organizational changes, and succession planning.
• Lead workstreams focused on career development, diversity, engagement, retention, and talent analytics for global engineering employees.
• Lead efforts in HR data management, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment across the enterprise.
• Generate monthly HR analytical reports and KPI’s
• Support performance management, merit planning, goal setting, and talent review processes, ensuring timely and effective execution.
• Ensure HRIS data integrity and accurate employee records.
• Partner with HR COEs including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Immigration, and Learning & Development to deliver high-value programs and experiences.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field required.
• 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources and HR Business Partner roles.
• Ability to work with Senior Leaders on critical people related issues, exerting influence and knowledge to assist with appropriate decision making.
• Ability to collaborate and with other functions within Human Resources, on development of programs and policies such as career ladders, hiring processes, job title harmonization, development planning, and early career programs.
• Knowledgeable in US employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training.
• Strong emphasis on HR systems reporting; emphasis on SAP, Success Factors
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with all functions and levels across the organization
