Job Purpose
Based in one of Dana’s main IPO hubs and reporting directly to the Global Director of Supplier Development, this position will be a regional lead role to support Supplier Development activities. This position will be an integral part in supporting the Supplier Development strategy to create a global ONE Dana structure.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and ongoing improvements of the Supplier Development strategies, processes, methods, and procedures according to the stated objectives.
- Establish regional Supplier Development objectives to support the overall Supplier Development strategies.
- Lead the region in the reduction of key KPI’s such as incidents, PPM’s and IPM’s.
- Monitor and report out on regional supplier performance metrics.
- Develop and oversee a strategy to deal with Dana’s worst suppliers within the region using Dana’s Supplier Improvement Plan (SIP) or similar alternatives to help drive improvements.
- Responsible for assessing, building and developing a world-class regional Supplier Development organization to support business objectives through skills assessment of team members and planning appropriate training needs.
- Ensure the proper allocation and alignment of Supplier Development resources; balancing quality issues, resourcing projects, new product launches, and supplier improvement activities.
- Deliver new projects according to Dana’s APQP process on time according to stated KPI’s.
- Represent Supplier Development in Purchasing Sourcing Council meetings or APQP kickoff meetings when needed.
- Support sourcing activity including but not limited to Supplier assessments according to either Dana’s SSA or global VDA 6.3 standards, Special Process Audits (SPM), Technical reviews (TRA), and Process Series Reviews (PSR).
- Support the resolution of current production quality, service, and technology performance issues, with on-site support at the supplier with SDE’s.
- Participate and contribute in global Supplier Development meetings.
- Prepare and host regional Supplier Development team meetings.
- Lead any other tasks or projects as assigned.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Minimum 10 years of diverse experience in the following functions: Operations, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality or Supplier Quality Systems, preferably within the Automotive Manufacturing Industry.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Internal or Lead auditor 3rd party certifications in the following quality standards: ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3.
- Working knowledge and understanding of all appropriate automotive quality improvement tools, including Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC), along with Error Proofing and LEAN principles.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
