Job Purpose
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting business leaders with their compensation requirements, including salary and bonus administration, detailed compensation analyses, and job evaluations. In addition, this position is responsible for project management as it relates to projects that are outside of the annual programs. The Compensation Analyst analyzes compensation trends in the external market and ensures that Dana jobs are appropriately aligned for internal equity and external competitiveness.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, analyzes, and administers compensation such as off-cycle salary evaluations, variable pay or short-term incentives (annual incentive plans, sign on bonuses, retention bonuses, etc.), and annual salary increases
- Design and drive annual employee compensation planning activities integrated with performance management processes, including salary increase review cycle, promotions, and equity/market adjustments
- Assists with executive compensation programs including LTI equity (RSU, PSU, NQSO, etc.), deferred compensation, legacy company payments, special payments, and related administration/reporting
- Collaborate with and transfer practical compensation knowledge to HR Business Partners to drive, align, and continue implementation of Dana’s global grading guidelines
- Partner with HR colleagues and HRIS to ensure data integrity
- Provides recommendations on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations
- Interprets internal or external compensation issues and recommends solutions
- Develop and document compensation policies and procedures ensuring compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and applicable local laws and statutory requirements
- Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions
- May coordinate functional teams or projects
- Other duties within the compensation scope
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or related field required
- 4+ years’ experience in compensation, financial analysis, or HR administration in the manufacturing / automotive industry preferred
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors a plus
- Strong detail-orientation skills to ensure adherence to controls and accuracy in deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to various stakeholders
- Must be an excellent problem solver and independent thinker who can create innovative solutions, with some guidance, and views challenges broadly
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Manages ambiguity, adapts to shifting priorities, and balances workload with competing priorities
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
