Job Purpose

The Dana facility in Humboldt, TN is excited to announce the upcoming launch of our new driveshaft production lines in early 2025. Dana has an opportunity for you to join our team as a 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor. In this role, the supervisor will lead a team of maintenance employees by directing the installation, maintenance and repair of the plant equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish Priorities with Manufacturing Leadership, communicate to General Maintenance employees and assign tasks accordingly.
Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment downtime situations.  Quickly and logically determine and resolve root problems.
Mentor others to use data and the scientific approach to problem solving.
Create an environment that continuously measures and improves equipment uptime.
Engage third party experts as appropriate to resolve challenging maintenance issues and to teach our General Maintenance employee’s necessary new skills.
Manage Maintenance work orders including:
Priority
Assignment
Estimated Time to Complete
Actual Time to Complete
Ensure the General Maintenance employees have the necessary tools and training required to support Machining and Assembly.
Establish a process to measure and improve Machine Availability for our Top 10 Critical Machines.
Urgently lead General Maintenance employees in response to Machining and Assembly downtime situations.
Effectively administer time for General Maintenance employees including OT management, eTime management
Establish, Track and Communicate General Maintenance employee Performance Trends
Work daily and weekend overtime as necessary
Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree with 3+ years of experience preferred.  Supervisor or Lead experience with 7+ years of maintenance experience with no degree will be considered.
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of Machining and Assembly processes, equipment, fixturing and tooling.
Organizational Skills required for managing multiple work orders and assignments.
Possess the ability to recognize improvement opportunities and the ambition to make a difference.
Excellent customer support skills to serve Machining and Assembly.
Excellent Leadership and Communication Skills to coordinate and direct Maintenance employees.
Ability to Solve Problems in a logical fashion that identifies and resolves true root cause.

 

Computer Skills:
To Perform this job successfully, an individual must have expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g. word processing, email and spreadsheets.
Must have the ability to work effectively with computerized maintenance management systems and instruct others on its operation.

Physical Requirements:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to climb ladders and work in high places.

 

Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The employee may be exposed to hot/cold/humid conditions.
The employee may be exposed to high noise environments.
The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the processes.
