Job Purpose

This position reports to the Materials Manager and collaborates closely with Production, Receiving, Customer Service and Purchasing.  Responsible for understanding and sharing the material needs to the planning team and coordinating their activities so they are transformed into internal requirements served with quality and timeliness. Support schedulers on creating efficient schedules to run the production lines.  At the same time, responsible for disseminating teamwork to provide the necessary service to internal clients and to be able to meet common goals.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

⦁    Know and comply with the Safety Regulations of the Company, to prevent accidents, avoid acts and unsafe conditions.
⦁    Understand and let customer service know about the actual requirements with suppliers and coordinate activities related to material needs. Work together with material planning team to accomplish Dana goals.
⦁    Give accurate information about status of supplier deliveries using the correct follow up with virtual systems(phone, conferences, teams, etc)
⦁    Accomplish KPI’S target and create action plans for the ones that are not in target.
⦁    Attend escalations property and get them to the correct level with purchasing to avoid any affectation.
⦁    Be able to negotiate with suppliers finding the best way to avoid material affectations, get recoverable plans from them to provide to materials team and plant.
⦁    Create actions plans to keep inventory values on target (min/max).
⦁    Create and update reports to track planning targets and opportunities.
⦁    Support communication flow between different departments giving the tools they need from planning team.
⦁    Ensure that the systems are being used correctly for proper planning. (Livesource, Oracle)
⦁    Review and run one network alarms, transits and open orders reports weekly to keep the system clean and accurate.
⦁    Maintains effective communication with all departments.
⦁    Maintains courteous, impartial, and objective dealing with suppliers
⦁    Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
⦁    Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

Education and Qualifications

⦁    5+ years related work experience in a supervisory role in Purchasing/Planning, or Materials Management in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment (preferred).
⦁    Thorough knowledge of MRP, inventory control, purchasing procedures and internal controls.
⦁    Logistic experience.
⦁    Ability to represent the company effectively in dealing with suppliers
⦁    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
⦁    Ability to understand and analyze the requirements of the material requirements plan.  Ability to convert these requirements into purchase orders to support manufacturing.
⦁    Ability to conduct purchasing related tasks via the telephone, e-mail, Internet, and in person.
⦁    Demonstrated experience with widely accepted MRP systems and applications software.
⦁    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
⦁    Engage in matters involving high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and tact.
⦁    Working knowledge of various supply chain strategies including, JIT, Kanban with a through understanding of production and inventory control principles.
