Job Purpose

  • Develop new or modify existing methods to manufacture products ensuring that such methods meet quality and production standards as well as health, safety, and environmental standards    
  • Coordinate all Sales Inquiries and Program Launches
  • Determine manufacturing scope and requirements in new-business quotes, APQP and product launches
  • Plan, prioritize and budget manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement projects for the plant
  • Work with Quality department to develop Poka Yoke devices
  • Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance to meet or exceed annual business improvement targets    
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop relationships with equipment vendors to improve customer service, response time, etc    
  • Manage capacity planning    
  • Determine optimum plant layout and process flow to achieve optimal output
  • Prepare, manage and control the department budget that meets or exceeds plant goals and objectives    
  • Supervise and lead responsible salaried staff in vendor evaluation, vendors accountability, capability and on-time delivery; and in commissioning equipment determining its safety, capacity and capability prior to production acceptance
  • Maintain and manage a trained qualified capable staff able to execute the design, modification, vendor-selection, purchase and installation of new or upgraded equipment or plant facilities
  • Determine general work assignments within the group
  • Establish priorities within the group relative to service provided to the plant    
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a technical field discipline
  • 1+ years technical experience
  • Experience with machining and production equipment
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Self-starter with motivation to complete projects per specified timelines, as well as ability to work in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Kaizen & Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with vendors, customers, & employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • PLC experience is a plus – Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, Okuma (OSP), and Mori-Seiki (MAPS).
  • IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferred
