Job Purpose

Coordination of Capex supply chain management activities for Dana’s plant in relevant BU sphere. Responsible for identification and evaluation of opportunities within Capex: reduction of spend, consolidation of process, starting and continuity of supply of capex goods and/or services.  Manages the Dana capex contracts categories and reports the metrics associated with them. Delivers continuous improvement in cost process and services.  Will be responsible for requests for information (RFI) or quote (RFQ). Generates recommendations based on Total Cost of Ownership comparisons. Monitors and reports on activities associated with Capex Spend. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and responsibility for managing and leading the Capital / Tooling purchasing. Manages the Capital acquisition process (RFA’s).
Stablish supplier strategies
Leverage and develop a list of preferred suppliers and make this in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering and/or internal stakeholders.
Obtains and analyzes quotes to determine best value, then recommends sourcing solutions based on data and facts collected. 
Ability to clearly list out Dana's negotiable items and the supplier's and negotiate basic items/deals with minimal supervision.  Clearly understands the details and how to prepare for negotiations and adheres to his/her walk-away. 
Consistently sends out and reviews complete RFQ packages and negotiates the basic terms of a contract to support an agreement.  Understand what type of contract is required.   Understands key points to leverage beyond price.   Understands Dana's standard Terms and Conditions. 
Formulate annual business plans for achievement of cost reductions and year over year performance improvement. Add value to the business by lowering purchase cost or increasing value add opportunities. 
Monitors supplier(s) performance, elevates issues within the supplier’s organization for resolution.  Understands and reviews the corrective actions for sustained results.  Holds regular performance review meetings with key stakeholders and measures compliance to agreements. Drive for additional savings / capex avoidance project with proper tracking and and reporting accurate.
Works proactively with other departments to cover plants needs. Communicate with business on current and future needs.
Promotes cost reduction activities with key suppliers and shares best practices.

Education and Qualifications

Four-year degree in Business (Supply Chain Management or Purchasing is preferred) or four-year degree in Engineering (Product or Manufacturing)
5 years of experience in Capex and Indirect procurement.
Professional Supply chain certification preferred
Strong team player, able to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Willing to travel 30%.
Fluent in English, German language high valued.
SAP ERP experience

Familiarity with Procurement and Supplier Metrics with flow-down to supplier contracts and performance reviews. 
Must have an understanding of blueprints and technical specifications. 
Strong personal computer skills required, including experience with MS Office Software.
