CAD and Application Engineer

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Designing and modeling of the new products, existing products and its test fixtures
Receiving and transmitting the CAD files among internal and external partners
Draw 2D drawings according to the standards in place (e.g. GD&T)
Realize and document the 3D models and the 2D drawings (with dimensioning and tolerancing) by keeping the requirements expressed and respect the deadlines by the requestor
Manages the computer (workstation) equipped with CAD software
Manages the CAD softwares, its licenses in order to keep it up-to-date and working
Know how to use CAD environments, receiving / transmitting CAD documents via different systems (Creo / Catia)
New product development as per Dana’s APQP structure
Support Technical Development Managers during the industrialization of the design
Contact suppliers to clarify technical details, feasibility
Organizing prototyping builds, testing & CAD design iterations
Support customer and program needs through customer and plant visits
Establish and maintain positive customer relations, through analysis and resolutions of customer issues
Communicate customer expectations and technological trends to group engineering, sales, and production plants
Coordinate customer responses, relying on effective communication with Advanced Engineering, Sales, and the production plants
New project handover to production and support also serial production
Lead and Coordinate Change Management projects
Requirements
University degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
Knowledge of technical designing, sizing and tolerancing acc.to ISO standards (GD&T)
Knowledge of material forming techniques (stamping, bending, laser cutting)
CAD software knowledge of Creo and/or CATIA or Inventor
Min. 3 years of experience in Automotive Industry (as CAD, product, process or project engineer)
Knowledge in combustion engine and E-mobility is preferred
Metallurgical knowledge is preferred
Experience in project management and APQP, IATF16949; advanced PC skills
Superior communication skills, self-starter, and results-orientated personality
Strong analytical, problem solving and inter-personal skills
Language skills: fluency in English and preferably in German
