Job Purpose

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful transition of new products & technology into the production areas.
  • Monitor existing manufacturing processes to continuously improve process, efficiency, throughput, quality, setup, and cost through engagement and action.
  • Manage capital plans and expense projects as required
  • Design, develop, test, and/or source and implement various tools, cutters, machinery, & equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Perform research, design, and analyses to develop and improve capacity, layouts, production flow, workforce utilization, and material handling methods.
  • Develop and implement documentation of manufacturing work instructions, process flow diagrams, and PFMEA alongside a Quality Engineering and Production counterpart.
  • Review new product specifications, review BOM's and Flex Fields for correctness and completeness.
  • EHS Compliance as it relates to job responsibility.
  • Interface with customers and implement corrective actions to resolve quality concerns and process related issues.
  • Participate and support Dana DOS, lean manufacturing, and Red-X initiatives.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment, further developing preventative and predictive maintenance systems, and providing direction for project and improvement work, as required
  • Possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Proficient in Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AviX, Visio, and MS Project will be helpful
  • Ability to work with vendors, customers, & employees at all levels of the organization
  • PLC experience is a plus – Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, Okuma (OSP), and Mori-Seiki (MAPS)
  • IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 preferred

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work overtime and travel as required
  • Equipment repair, rebuild, and/or purchasing experience
  • Experience in writing and editing work instructions
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, manufacturing design, error-proofing and ergonomics, health & safety
