GL Accountant

Job Purpose
Accountant for General Ledger owns core accounting activities through the month with high focus on month- end close activities and Balance Sheet reconciliations, while ensuing compliance with Corporate policies and SOX requirements. This is a key role in supporting operations across multiple regions, working closely with manufacturing plants or Corporate entities to ensure accurate financial reporting whilst also seeking opportunities to improve processes.
Core Responsibilities:
• Own and execute accounting tasks of assigned entities
• Perform Month End Close procedures incl. Fixed Assets activities
• Calculate and post journal entries, (e.g. accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, bank journals etc.)
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet accounts‘ reconciliations, analyze and work to minimize open items
• Deliver service according to DANA corporate policies and procedures incl. SOX requirements
• Collaborate with finance controllers and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and aligned operations
• Assist with audit process
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancement of General Ledger
Job Requirements:
• 2+ years of practical business experience in accounting operations (Service Center environment is an advantage)
• Demonstrated knowledge of main accounting principals
• Business proficient English both written and spoken
• Hands on experience with accounting ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong analytical skills
• Very good communication skills and positive attitude
• Self-disciplined with ability to work with deadlines and accuracy
• Results oriented and customer focused
