Job Purpose
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Tasks:
• Establish a Communications Plan with Manufacturing Operations that ensures the highest level of maintenance coordination and support to the shop floor operations.
o Clear and Well Understood Priorities
o Clear and Well Understood Maintenance Organization Performance Measures
• Establish a System for Measuring, Analyzing and Improving Key Equipment Uptime in a way that reduces maintenance burden and improves plant productivity.
o Measure MTTF (Mean Time To Fail) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
o Excel at Troubleshooting and developing Troubleshooting Skills within the Maintenance Organization
o Lead Disciplined Problem Solving efforts to improve both
• Become an expert in the DOS Maintenance initiatives and work collaboratively with Manufacturing Operations to effectively implement.
• Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (EMAINT) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
• Establish a disciplined PM system for Critical Equipment.
• Establish Priorities with Operations Leadership and a process for communicating those to all maintenance employees.
• Analyze current spare parts spending and develop initiatives that reduce those costs.
• Develop a strong staff that is motivated and capable of executing the maintenance initiatives and achieving the key maintenance objectives.

• Engage in Plant Level goal setting, plan development and performance measurement and improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Directly supervises maintenance staff.
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training maintenance employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
Skills and Experiences:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline is required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is Preferred, or 7+ years documented experience improving machining and assembly processes, equipment, fixturing and tooling.
• Excellent Fundamental Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills.
• Must have expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g. word, Excel, email and spreadsheets
• Ability to develop and implement Maintenance strategies that improve key measures.
• Ability to Develop both Teams and Individuals toward a High-Performance Environment in a Union Plant.
• Ability to recognize improvement opportunities and the ambition to make a difference.
• Leadership and Communication Skills necessary to engage and motivate all Maintenance Employees.
