Job Purpose
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements across manufacturing operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. This role applies lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and data-driven problem-solving to drive sustainable improvements. The Continuous Improvement Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and foster a culture of operational excellence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction using lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Investigate process inefficiencies and defects, perform data analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize and lead cross-functional improvement events to engage teams in identifying and solving operational challenges.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track progress of improvement initiatives and report results to leadership.
- Provide training on continuous improvement tools and methodologies, and support teams through change implementation.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience
- 3+ years of experience
Skills
- Proficient in continuous improvement methodologies and tools such as value stream mapping, DMAIC, 5S, and root cause analysis.
- Strong ability to collect, interpret, and act on data to drive process improvements and solve complex problems.
- Skilled in managing multiple improvement projects, leading workshops, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders, present findings, and influence change across all levels of the organization.
