Materials Technician

Key Accountabilities
• Unload inbound freight and following department processes for inspection of materials.
• Scan materials into MRP system.
• Deliver production and non-production parts to the designated areas.
• Stage, scan, label and load outbound freight in a safe and timely manner.
• Follow department guidelines for 5S.
• Maintain FIFO of components and axles.
• Follow safety guidelines established for materials department.
• Meet requirements for department rotation by performing each position at standard within the department.
• Involvement and assistance in facility waste streams including upkeep and control of waste stream tracking, marshalling, isolation, labeling and coordinating shipments.
• Must work overtime as needed to support department to meet facility requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency (GED) required
Must be able to pull self up on to forklift, replace empty gas tanks, steer forklift in forward and reverse which requires twisting in a seated position
Must be able to carry and stock varying weight – up to 75 pounds throughout shift to support production lines.
