Manufacturing Process Engineer

Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing operations and problem solving while making improvements.
- Monitor KPIs and support the development of data-driven countermeasures for process deviations.
- Maintain and update all required documentation including standard work instructions, PFMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Support and optimize automated manufacturing processes, including welding systems and torque tooling applications.
- Manage capital projects and related spending.
- Standardize best practices across programs to minimize variation and improve overall process quality.
- Collaborate across departments improve axle assembly operations.
- Support major plant initiatives, kaizen events, and other strategic goals in the plant.
- Procure specialized tools and gauges by evaluating design concepts, justifying expenditures, and initiating purchase orders.
- Implement tooling, improved processes, and plant layout improvement as needed through AutoCAD.
- Supervise installation of equipment, supporting functions, and vendors.
- Lead PFMEA reviews and actively identify and mitigate process risks throughout production systems.
- Serve as technical mentor to production, supporting advanced troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Support launch of new programs with Dana's manufacturing goals.
- Leads efforts for safety, sustainability and innovation.
- Champion training initiatives that improve workforce capability in diagnostic and problem-solving methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred
- Must have proven experience in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment to apply new technology or alternate process within the manufacturing environment.
- Must have corrective action and problem-solving experience using tools such as 8D, Five-Why or a similar methodology
- Ability to perform statistical data analysis, including capability studies, batch sizing and time studies
- Must have Lean/TPS experience.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and / or Autodesk Inventor
- Must have a focus on safe manufacturing process
- PLC, Controls knowledge or programming skills are preferred
