Job Purpose

To provide a comprehensive and professional service to the business in all aspects of human resources and H&S activities. Promoting best practice and ensuring that the business complies with legislation and employment law. To provide the HR Manager and Health & Safety Manager support relating to both HR & H&S site-based activities. 

To build upon and improve relationships with both internal and external bodies, ensuring best practice at all times and adherence to policies and procedures. Responsible for the day-to-day HR related matters, ensuring employee files are up to date, liaising with payroll regarding new starters, working closely with managers regarding all local recruitment and contact point for both internal and external clients

Job Duties and Responsibilities

•    Assist in the establishment and maintenance of HR policies and procedures in line with employment law, best practice and group requirements.

•    Assist in providing advice and support in relation to performance appraisals, discipline and grievance issues and employment issues.

•    Maintaining and promoting best practice with local union bodies.

•    Develop and maintain positive relationships with key personnel within the business.

•    Assist in protecting the company from employment litigation.

•    Assist in providing accurate HR/Management reports, including absenteeism, attrition, labour costs, training costs etc.

•    Controlling HR costs and minimising waste.

•    Prepare HR documentation including offer letters, contract documents, reports, employee handbook etc.

•    Maintain prompt and effective communication with internal and external contacts.

•    Maintenance of records and files.

•    To be liaise with recruitment agencies/third parties.

•    To liaise with internal departments.

•    Support the HR Manager and Health & Safety Manager.

•    Support all recruitment activities:

o    Contacting agencies. 
o    Supporting managers.
o    Arranging interview times.
o    Interviewing applicants
o    Dealing with all candidate correspondences.

•    To accomplish and promote safety and environmental policies

Education
•    University Degree 
•    Master’s Degree in HR

Experience
•    Experience of working within a HR/recruitment environment. Strong impact and influencing skills and total deliver focus. Will have the ability to build close working relationships with colleagues. An excellent communicator with a confident manner. Experience of using Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

Language Skills
•    English (fluency in reading, writing, and speaking)
