Job Purpose
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction goals of order fill and backlog.
- Determine proper manning requirements based on sales forecasts and production rates.
- Responsible for achieving productivity and efficiency goals through lean practices
- Ensure plant quality requirements and goals are achieved.
- Responsible for supporting the empowerment of people through the Dana style with ideas, motivation, education, communication, recognition, involvement, and safety consciousness.
- Maintain daily and monthly performance measurements for production department and recommend/implement initiatives to improve in overall performance.
- Provide leadership to first line supervisors in production departments including establishing objectives, setting goals, and managing accountability for attaining deliverables required of supervisory team.
- Actively work with the materials department and customers to assure that changes in schedules are handled in an efficient manner that meets customer expectations.
- Supervise and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Team Members.
- Responsible for production, assembly and warehouse areas.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in related field or 10 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum 5 years hands-on management experience in manufacturing operation
- Extensive knowledge and demonstrated accomplishment with Lean Manufacturing
- Experience in management in a warehouse distribution environment
- Union experience
- Proficient in Microsoft application
- Proficient in SAP system
- Familiarity in a technical manufacturing environment preferred
- Able to comprehend technical issues and solutions
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and ability to meet deadlines
- Proven success in teambuilding and motivating a team through to reaching established goals
- Must be a change agent able to lead continuous improvement effort
