Job Purpose
The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and guiding the daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure efficient and timely execution of equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and support for production operations. This role serves as the first-line leader, providing hands-on technical support, prioritizing work orders, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Team Lead acts as a liaison between maintenance staff and supervisors, helping to maintain equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assign and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to support production schedules.
- Assist technicians with diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, ensuring repairs are completed safely and effectively.
- Track equipment reliability and maintenance trends, escalating recurring issues to supervisors and recommending improvements.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all maintenance work adheres to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison between technicians and supervisors, facilitating clear communication, training opportunities, and feedback to improve team performance.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience
- 7+ years of experience
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and guide technicians through complex repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to effectively assign tasks, communicate priorities, and ensure alignment between technicians and supervisors.
- Skilled in fostering teamwork and maintaining clear, consistent communication.
