Job Purpose

The Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process, release scheduling of inbound raw materials and components, and ensuring adequate stock levels for production requirements. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all materials availability to support the manufacturing process
  • Responsible for the release scheduling of inbound raw materials and components, ensuring adequate stock levels for production requirements
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a Kanban system for materials
  • Support for scheduling of production work orders
  • Understand, and develop the release and scheduling of raw materials utilizing the SAP system
  • Formulate a forward plan of requirements based on historical information and future customer forecasts
  • Co-ordinate cycle counts of raw materials, and update SAP accordingly
  • Implement ABC categories for all inventory to closely control high volume items
  • Identify, develop, and document inventory release strategy for critical components
  • Drive the daily diagnostics of inventory, and root causes of errors
  • Implement an effective strategy for the most cost-effective flow of material to and from outside service providers
  • Develop a close working relationship with outside service providers and suppliers
  • Maintain and analyze outside service providers’ performance based on pre-determined goals
  • Develop a Kanban system for all purchased parts, to ensure FIFO and reorder points

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience a materials capacity
  • CAPIC/ APICS certification preferred
  • SAP experience is required    
  • Inventory control experience
