Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordination of non-production supply chain management activities for Dana in Belgium.
  • Directs the activities associated with the SCMG managed regional spend for designated commodity categories  (Capex & Indirect)
  • Realization of quality-, process- and financial targets.
  • Responsible for identification and evaluation of European opportunities within the commodity categories managed for reduction of spend, consolidation of supply base, function and continuity of supply. Buyer saving projects, align with commodity managers, operational buyer.
  • Assembling and managing cross-functional teams to gather data, benchmark, develop and implement non-production synergy opportunities.
  • Deliver continuous improvement in cost, process and services within the commodity categories.
  • Manage requests for quotation, negotiations, selection and supplier development processes.
  • Responsible for contract performance.
  • Timely reporting (activity status reports, financial results etc.) within the organization.
  • Advising plants on market trends, risks and opportunities.

Qualifications and technical competency levels

  • Several years successful track record in purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Minimum bi-lingual Dutch (writing/speaking/understanding is necessary) with fluent English language skills. High valuable French speaking.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leader, motivator and facilitator.
  • High-level analytic, technical and communication skills.
  • Creative, strategic thinker with global vision.
  • Strong team player, able to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains an organized and professional manner when representing Dana.
  • Willing to travel within EU (approx. 20%).
  • Is familiar with key cost drivers and industry related events tied to assigned category.
