Job Purpose
The ‘analysis and optimisation’ of existing production processes and the ‘design, development and introduction’ of new production processes in order to "achieve and guarantee a drastic improvement in:
• employee safety,
• product quality,
• product costs,
• organisational efficiency,
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Analysing and solving tooling problems relating to safety and ergonomics.
• Developing safety modifications to machines.
• Determining tolerances relating to the finishing of products.
• Optimising finishing, testing and introducing new clamping tools.
• Ordering new clamping tools.
• Negotiating prices with suppliers of new clamping tools.
• Conducting product studies, developing cost reduction opportunities for the design of existing and new products (design for manufacturing).
• Participating in workshops to increase production efficiency.
• Providing technological support to the production and purchasing departments.
• Providing technological advice to suppliers.
• Analysing and solving problems in production (problem solving).
• Recording reworking methods and following up on special reworkings.
• Analysing and optimising production processes.
• Devising and integrating self-designed clamping techniques on new machines in the production process.
• Follow up on orders for clamping tools.
• Devise and develop new tool concepts.
• Integrate own concepts into existing installations.
• Convert existing (standard) installations to specific SOH requirements.
• Perform investment analyses (justify investments, cost-benefit analyses, etc.).
Must haves:
• Minimum degree in Engineering, MSc in Electro-mechanics or Mechanics, or equivalent through experience.
• Extensive knowledge of production techniques within one of the following technology domains:
o Turning, deep drilling, gear finishing.
o Heat treatment and welding.
o Hard turning, external grinding, internal grinding, groove grinding, gear grinding.
• In-depth knowledge of production techniques for tool manufacturing.
• Mechanical design techniques.
• Knowledge of drawing software (AutoCAD, Pro-E).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Queries).
• Knowledge of Dutch, English and German.
Nice-to-haves:
• Experience in leading projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical finishing techniques outside your own specific area of expertise.
• Knowledge of automation techniques.
