Job Purpose

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains.  Serving three primary markets passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and the off-highway equipment. The Traction Motor Technologist will lead the engineering efforts of major projects in electric motor developments.  The Traction Motor Technologist will be responsible for the design and development of electric motors from concept to production, ensuring high quality standards throughout.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver motor design solutions meeting customer requirements
  • Own DVP&R definition and execution to validate product performance
  • Lead DFMEA activities and design reviews
  • Perform analysis including FEA, NVH, and tolerance stack-ups
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
  • Lead root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Support cost optimisation and manufacturing readiness
  • Present technical content to internal and customer stakeholders

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 3 years of progressive experience in automotive or similar field
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in design / development of electrification products

  • Knowledge of the automotive electrification sector

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability
  • Understanding of and/or experience using CAE tools including: ABAQUS/ANSYS/FESAFE
  • Demonstrated experience leading APQP, DVP&R, and DFMEA activities
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to understand prints / stack-ups
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside of Dana in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to organize multiple responsibilities and meet multiple deadlinesMust be a self-directed, motivated, and organized individual who is willing to accept responsibility

  • Excellent customer relationship skills
