As a Design Engineer, Production Testing Processes, you will be an active member of the Production Testing team at the operations level.

You are responsible for developing, implementing and supporting production testing for all products in the company's portfolio; electric propulsion systems including motors, traction inverters and chargers, as well as electronic boards (power/command, control and others).

You will be responsible for ensuring that products delivered to internal and external customers meet the technical specifications.

Your role will also be to act as a liaison for support between internal project teams in prototyping, industrialization and operations for special requests, as well as a pillar for our international production sites (America, Asia, Europe.)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Your challenges

  • Develop production testing strategies and methods for products manufactured by the company;
  • Design new test equipment and tooling, respecting health & safety rules and ergonomics;
  • Write specifications, analyze bids for new equipment and qualify equipment upon receipt;
  • Commission test stations on site as well as at joint ventures, suppliers and international production sites;
  • Support production on site as well as at joint ventures, suppliers and international production sites;
  • Create and maintain production documentation and control plans;
  • Handle non-conformities in production/inspection and actively participate in customer returns;
  • Participate in new product engineering and prototype testing;
  • Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of the quality system (ISO9001, IATF16949).
  • Travel to various Dana TM4 sites and international suppliers (20-30% of time)
  • Develop, create and optimize task management tools and monitoring indicators relevant to the various stations and equipment (KPI)
  • Ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with internal procedures
  • Find appropriate solutions to problems related to defined risks;
  • Act as a firefighter to manage ad hoc requests (repairs, investigations, etc.).
  • Participate in the drive for continuous improvement to contribute to the company's efficiency and the development of the profession.

Your strengths

The following skills are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (asset)
  • From 2 to 5 years' relevant experience
  • Experience with National Instruments tools(TestStand, LabVIEW, XCP) (asset);
  • Ability to interpret electrical and component drawings, assembly diagrams and technical specifications;
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including the Office suite (SharePoint is an asset)

- Programming experience in VBA, Java, Java script, C Sharpe, Altium designer (an asset);

  • Experience in client/server interaction (an asset);
  • High versatility and flexibility;
  • Ability to guide and coordinate the progress of projects with members of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Autonomy and proactivity;
  • Rigorous work ethic;
  • Interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Team player;
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency with laboratory instruments.
