Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for overall technical ownership of a product (inverter or motor).
Primary Duties:
• Responsible for completion of the different product and design review gates as per Dana development process.
• Collaborate with the program and project manager, the verification and validation group and the prototype teams to meet program milestones.
• Ensure delivery of technical deliverables as per the development process (DFMEA, DVP/Test plan, BOM, drawing release, etc.…))
• Main interface responsible for coordination and communication with internal stakeholders for a product (prototype, V&V, project manager, purchasing, simulation, core team and manufacturing).
• Actively support the project manager with communication with the business unit, the leadership, and the customer.
• Leverage core engineering resources in Dana.
• Responsible for change management
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, and other related functions to implement design for manufacturing and design for cost best practices.
• Implement corrective action from lessons learned.
Your challenges:
• Planning and monitoring of design activities for a given product, from architecture to production;
• Track design activities and deliverables for a given product;
• Understand power electronic circuits (DC / DC, DC / AC);
• Understand the principles of functional safety according to ISO26262;
• Supervise the work of technicians and assemblers when required;
• Participate in design reviews of printed circuits board
• Participate in design reviews of complete products (electro-mechanical integration);
• Represent the company as a technical expert when meeting with clients;
• Propose, improve and maintain the processes of design, documentation and release of electronic cards;
• Write technical reports;
• Participate and support quality problem solving exercises;
• Contribute to the research and development of new technologies for electronic products.
Your strengths:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other equivalent field;
• Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ), an asset;
• Minimum of four (45) years of experience in electronics design;
• Experience in team and personnel management, an asset;
• Experience in the automotive industry, an asset;
• Experience in automotive functional safety according to ISO26262, an asset;
• Knowledge of Altium Designer, an asset
• Demonstrated ability to document one's work;
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams;
• Proactive and autonomous;
• Knows how to take a critical look at his work and that of others;
• Rigorous and respectful of deadlines;
• Fluency in French and English, spoken and written
