Material Scheduler

Job Purpose
The role is to support the Logistics Department in Material Scheduling. Key to the role is to control strict stock levels and inbound deliveries from a truly International Supply Chain Base as well as analysing customer requirements to ensure production is planned efficiently.
Problem solving and the ability to work in the fast-paced environment of a Tier 1 automotive supply chain are crucial requirements in this role with core objectives are to ensure through accurate scheduling stock is available and there is no disruption to the production lines and the department KPI’s are met. Meeting customer delivery requirement is essential.
The role requires management of Suppliers/Customers and developing relationships with primary Supplier/Customer Contacts. This is a pre-production role to support prototype builds
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. To control the issue of purchase schedules and production plans aligned with manufacturing plans on prototype orders
2. To communicate to supplier’s key information including on-time delivery performance, shutdown dates and significant Program changes.
3. To control inbound materials from suppliers using ASNs, usage data and stock levels
4. Maintain stock levels within KPI targets avoiding shortages and excess inventory and premium freight.
5. Support Production Planners, Operations Management and other internal customers by ensuring material availability for new projects and organizing freight as required
6. Work using a continuous improvement approach and develop improvements to the Scheduling, Production Planning and Supplier Delivery process.
7. Manage suppliers building working relationships and key measurable
8. Ensure balanced stock depletion when programs end, maintaining supply to completion avoiding excess obsolete stock.
9. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency and cost reductions.
10. Full Ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
Education and Qualifications
- Due to the fast-paced nature of this role, candidates must have previous, relevant Supply Chain experience ideally in a Tier 1 automotive environment.
2. Ability to work under pressure within a team environment.
3. Comprehensive IT skills essential including spreadsheets, E-mail and SAP.
4. Ability to communicate to all levels in both this and supplier organizations
5. Experience of managing supply situations and overseeing supplier improvement action plans
6. Occasional requirements to work outside of core hours to secure parts for the production lines.
