Job Purpose
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support daily production to ensure equipment uptime and appropriate throughputs are being achieved hourly and daily.
• Knowledge of aluminum brazing of thin plates. Conduct monthly temperature profile measurement.
• Manage nitrogen usage for furnace environment.
• Conduct monthly thermocouple efficiency checks.
• Manage end of furnace process automated equipment (leak test, laser, braze fixture disassembly).
• Working with sales, quality, and engineering to ensure product launches are completed on time.
• Troubleshoot equipment, working with outside vendors and maintenance to ensure equipment runs as required.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Participate as a key member in implementing DOS principles and philosophies throughout the plant. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Ensure adherence to the Contractor Safety Program.
• Work with Team Leaders and Production Supervisor/Manager to drive continual improvement activities with the goal of improving overall plant KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology degree or diploma
• Knowledge of Fluid Mechanics and/or Materials are an asset
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Six Sigma practices and problem-solving techniques
• Experience with continuous belt furnaces.
• Experience with material handling robots
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint,
• Good organizational & time management skills,
• Ability to work independently to support the engineering and production team.
