Position Summary
We are looking for talented and motivated System Engineer to join our R&D department in Arco (TN) location. The System Engineer will develop solutions for Dana Transmissions and Customer applications, leveraging on electric, hydraulic, mechanics, software and electronics knowledges.
You will work within a high-motivated and multidisciplinary team operating in a global environment suitable to stimulate skills and competences for a professional growth. Creativity, innovation, curiosity and accountability are the core team’ foundations to develop systems addressing OEM vehicles requirements.
The System Engineer will report to the Lead Engineer for HVT Transmission Systems and will support project developments also coordinating activities among different teams.

System Engineer shall be part of multi disciplinary team able to transform both internal and external stakeholders’ needs in solutions’ value.

Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for the translation of customer needs into system requirements, to be decomposed into requirements and specifications for each subsystem and technical domain, till the definition of component, subsystem and system specification.
- Responsible for the coordination and execution of integration and validation activities, leveraging model-based system engineering methodology, to assess system performances and functions. The role includes coding for data analysis, and problem-solving activities.
- Responsible for control system development using a model-based approach with Simulink (design, simulation and prototyping). The role requires the ability to understand and analyze model-based software implementations/architecture.
- Responsible for executing and promoting engineering activities to develop required systems to meet the top-level performance, durability, reliability and cost targets, including multi-domain physical systems modeling and simulation.
- The System Engineer will contribute during the full development process of new products and systems, from concept development and feasibility, through design and validation activities and programs, prototyping till production release and implementation.
- The candidate will work in cooperation with other functions, supplier, product and system verification and validation engineers, manufacturing/process/quality engineers, purchasing, analyst to assure the product/system launch and implement cost reduction, process and product/systems improvements.
- Finally, the candidate will support and manage technical communications and professional presentations to the customers.
Job Position Requirements
Education: University master degree - Mechatronics, Mechanics, Automotive, Aerospace
Professional background
• 1-3 years of experience
• System Engineering (avoid IT system engineer)
• Application Engineer (electric, mechatronics, hydraulics)
• Control/Automation/Mechatronics Engineer
• Experience in the development of powertrain systems will be a plus
• Project Development Process (Stage Gate)
Hard Skills
Essential:
• Functional Safety knowledge is not mandatory but considered as a plus to support the definition and management of the functional safety process in accordance with the Safety Standards (ISO61508, ISO 26262, ISO 25119, ISO 13849).
