Job Purpose

Responsible for the Operational Excellence (DOS) development in the plant

 • To work with the Plant Management and Planning Board Team to lead and embed a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing lean methodology where appropriate.

• Contributes to implement DANA’s Lean strategy and expert knowledge in key areas of Lean deployment, standards and methods in all functions following DANA Operating System (DOS)

.• To provide support in Lean & CI initiatives, Supporting and controlling the plant in their CI & Lean cost reduction projects. 

• Be the teacher in the plant of Lean tools to increase the awareness and knowledge of DOS.

• Leading/Supporting Plant Jishukens. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Principle Accountabilities:

• Always put safety first. • Develop/ use appropriate business systems to successfully manage and control the Plant regards to DOS, supporting the plant to meet/over exceed the CI target. • Leading the Plant’s DOS Assessments and contributing to a clear improvement plan for the plant as part of the yearly plant operating plan (AOP). • Responsible for overall planning and monitoring of projects to ensure targets are achieved within budget and on time. • Leading the Plants DOS meetings/calls. • Plant responsible for making sure APEX upload on time. • Escalating if more support is needed. • Understanding and leading the control of LPA process to sustain improvements. • Implementation of strategic initiatives. • Develop Skills and Experience and support to Plant SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) for the DOS tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, standardized work, set-up reduction, TPM, poka yoke error proofing, time element measurement. DOS Manager may be SME of multiple tools. • Develop DOS knowledge in the Plant. • Facilitate / Support improvements projects, Jishukens, Kaizen Workshops. • Leading Critical Plant supports activities. • Build and lead high performance teams by effectively support the recruiting process, motivating and developing individuals in a strong team environment. Build organisational and talent development capability including succession plans. • Supporting the plants implementation of our MES system (Manufacturing Execution System) 

 

Education and Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experiences to fulfil role (essential & desirable)

 • Candidates will be certified to degree/business engineering level, within a high volume, automotive manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team. (Preferred) • Previous experience of working More than 5 years’ as a LEAN/6Sigma leader in the Automotive industry. (Preferred) • Strong understanding of Lean principles, and have successfully led Lean transformation in a manufacturing and business process environment. • Dutch speaking mandatory and fluent in English plus minimum one other Local Language. • Proven leadership and management skills within a challenging environment. • Good knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies. • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal at all levels in local language and English. • Excellent presentation skills. • Good computer skills, conversant with Microsoft office. • Excellent motivator, self-starting, with an enthusiastic approach. • Proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives including experience implementing Lean from concept to full implementation. • Motivated by results and strives to exceed expectations. • Strong organizational, multi–tasking and time-management skills. • Analytical approach to problem solving.
